Basic Attack

Sanguine Absolution

BASIC ATTACK: An attack with up to 5 sequences that deals Heat DMG. As the controlled operator, Final Strike also deals 18 Stagger. DIVE ATTACK: Basic attack performed in mid-air becomes a dive attack that deals Heat DMG to nearby enemies. FINISHER: Basic attack performed near a Staggered enemy becomes a finisher that deals massive Heat DMG and recovers some SP.

Battle Skill

Blazing Exorcism

Camille summons Firefang Vesperwings that fly towards the enemy to deal Heat DMG and apply Heat Infliction on enemies in a small area of effect. The Firefang Vesperwings then temporarily hover around the target and apply Weakness and Heat Susceptibility to the said target for the duration of the hovering. When the target is defeated, the Firefang Vesperwings fly to another nearby enemy, deal Heat DMG, and apply Heat Infliction, Weakness, and Heat Susceptibility to the new target. Hitting an enemy with hovering Firefang Vesperwings with Camille's combo skill sets off an explosion after a short delay. This explosion deals additional Heat DMG.

Combo Skill

Heartstake Thorn

COMBO TRIGGER: When an enemy's Heat Infliction is consumed or absorbed. Performs a returning dash that deals Heat DMG and recovers some SP.

Ultimate

Sanguine Downpour

Camille flies to the sky, rains down a barrage of spears, and follows through with a sweep attack. This deals Heat DMG and applies Heat Infliction to target(s) hit while recovering some SP. After casting the ultimate, Camille's battle skill is temporarily transformed into Hunter Pursuit. Hunter Pursuit: Treated as a combo skill and costs no SP. It is a dash attack that deals Heat DMG and recovers some SP.

HUMAN RESOURCES SUMMARY

Camille Arno, Seš'qa's Agaš'mekanaz (Keeper of Wisdom), sought a partnership with Endfield Industries in a personal capacity. Following a recommendation from the Endministrator, he currently holds a position within the Specialist Tech Division. Operator Camille's parents were members of the joint science expedition from Terra. He himself was born and raised in Seš'qa. However, due to the requirements of his job and his past experiences, Camille has lived outside the floating city for many years. Although Camille claims to be "hunting" a criminal kin, his extremely long yet blank curriculum vitae suggests that he has quietly swapped his roles of "hunter" and "prey". The entire corpus of his social relations, personal background ... or his "life", if we were to adopt a broader definition, has been completely destroyed across a period of several decades. When I picked this up in the discussion, Camille averted his gaze to the ceiling and stared at a blotch. He then broke the silence with a stream of metaphors and figures of speech. One of them, which I felt was most impressive, was how he described himself as a "pendulum working in vain". He went on and said there was a certain day when his time stopped ticking. When the conversation was over, I walked away with the most important lesson when engaging with this operator — If you wish to avoid the excessive task of emotional management, DO NOT talk about his sibling. — Martin Marvin Malen, Assistant, HR Division, Endfield Industries

DOCUMENT: The Tourist's Guide to Talos-II: Seš'qa, Issue 3 Seš'qa Open Day is here! What should a wise tourist do? Visit Witching Hour's flagship store? Buy yourself a limited edition of something not offered on the shelves of TGCC shops? Sip on something nice at the Glasshouse Bar? Look for secret witch-crafter ateliers in the dark alleyways? There are just so many things to do in the floating city. Our latest guide gives you a secret and nuanced choice: Book a visit to a safe house of an Agaš'mekanaz, or Keeper of Wisdom. I used to treat these Keepers as a mysterious group of dangerous and merciless individuals who work in the shadows. I believe many readers share my view. The organizers of recent Open Days might be interested in changing this stereotype, since they added more Keeper-related activities to the agenda to help us learn about their long-term contributions and good work. My guide was a retired Keeper. A kind and patient Goliath, she was nothing like the cold and merciless Agaš'mekanaz I had in mind. She told me that after Jakub Meissen betrayed Seš'qa, the city experienced a crisis of trust, even though the event also devastated Sarkazian communities of Talos-II. To prevent such things from happening again, the leaders of Seš'qa gathered the very best and established the office of the Agaš'mekanaz. Their focus is to handle malicious crimes perpetrated by, or targeting, the Sarkaz. We spent the next hour happily walking past evidence walls, filing cabinets, and showcases of various specialized witchcraft equipment. The convo we shared taught me a few secrets. The biggest challenge that any Keeper could face would be crimes committed by a fellow kindred. Generally speaking, the other races would balk at putting a relative of the suspect on the case, but the Sarkaz took the opposite approach. Many of their tribes are blessed with long life and mastery of a wide selection of Originium Arts. Hence, a kindred bound by blood also happens to be the perfect counter to Sarkazian criminals. "This is why many of the Agaš'mekanaz suffer emotionally. Some doubt our ability to remain just and fair, but none of us have yet to abandon principle for a kindred," the Keeper said. "Were you ever forced to ... cross blades with your own family?" I could not help but ask. There was a moment when I thought her emotions might crack, but she raised her gaze to the only skylight of the safe house. There was a brief silence before she sorted out her feelings and reverted to her normal self. "I used a handcannon. It was his." Through the skylight, I could see the last rays of dusk reflecting off the clouds. The fireworks erupted, elaborate works of witchcraft woven by the crafters. Seš'qa has enjoyed another day of peace.

DOCUMENT: Valley IV Monitoring Feed 1. Originium Byproduct Processing Center (Originium BPPC), Entrance: Clear images. Endfield operators observed. No strange sightings. 2. Worker Dorms, southeast: UWST crew mates going about their daily activities. No strange sightings. 3. The Hub Base: Camille Arno identified. Camera zooms in for better tracking. 4. Aburrey Quarry: Signal lost. Suspected damage to the camera affixed to the Landbreaker; said entity has been attacked and eliminated by the enemy. 5. Bridge Approach Camp: Several Landbreakers had left or joined the retreating column. Only a few fuzzy videos have been captured. Final position has been abandoned. 6. United Parking Lot, Originium Power Plant: Focus all cameras on Camille Arno and the Endministrator of Endfield Industries. Monitor the activities of these two individuals. ...... This report proves that an unknown party has deployed a well-hidden monitoring system throughout the region of Valley IV. Nobody could have imagined that the Endministrator returned from this trip with several thousand hours worth of video recordings. The discovery, found in an abandoned underground facility, left every analyst in shock. It proves that an organization has been acting from the shadows of Valley IV, silently observing every action of everyone, and pulling secret strings to exert control over the region. When the analysts realized that the cameras were implanted within the Landbreakers to avoid detection (Camille mentioned how the perpetrator abandoned them without second thought), they knew why Seš'qa chose to assign an Agaš'mekanaz to the task. Fortunately, after Camille Arno arrived at Valley IV, all the cameras were assigned to monitor his movement and activities. The period of monitoring happens to overlap with Endfield activities in the region. We can safely assume that no pieces of critical intel have been leaked. The lack of leakage is also why none of our operators noticed the unwarranted third-party monitoring. After receiving the video feed, operators of the tech division traced the origins to an earlier batch of records (already destroyed) and realized that the organization had begun tracking Camille several decades ago. Though the Keeper himself responded to this finding mildly and appeared to have expected this, the techies sympathized with his plight and promised to give his equipment a suite of upgrades designed to counter covert monitoring measures. When the analysts briefed Camille about their findings, he just leaned against the wall and looked at the screen quietly for quite a while before he raised his eyes and asked: "Say if you were on the other side of the monitoring cameras, staring at a familiar person ... what is most likely to come to mind?" The analysts gave all sorts of answers. Camille did not respond to any of them but continued his extended silence. Finally, he left a written note in the debriefing report. "So much alike, yet so divergent in essence. Why?" He wants the answer to the question. He needs it.

FILE 3

Camille always thought his emotions were well-hidden away. When compared to other operators who exercised zero restraints, he did a fine job. Unfortunately, unintended movements and barely noticeable body language still betrayed him. When frustrated, Camille would lower his gaze and study a crack, if any, on the ground, or subconsciously rub his shoulder blade. When he wishes to avoid contact, he would shift his center of balance to his right leg to expedite immediate flight. When hesitating or discomforted, his fingers would subconsciously rub the old, ancient key hanging from his waist. Many Endfield operators have an item or keepsake they focus on. For example, Yvonne treats Frost-e-Bytee as a close friend, Rossi has her dagger, and Da Pan is always carrying that ferrium wok on his back. But Camille is different. If anyone were to ask him about his key, he would immediately retract his hand as though the thing had become a burning brand. He would keep his lips tightly closed and refuse to respond to the inquiry. Skilled machinists would identify that the key was a handcrafted from something that resembled a music box cylinder, though Camille knows nothing about artisanry. The man has no property to his name, and no one knows what the key could actually open. Eventually, everyone became wiser and learned not to ask about the item. In the end, Camille confessed to the origins of the key during a casual conversation. It was a present personally crafted by his younger brother (the very same who broke all ties with him). It was part of their home at Seš'qa, which Camille later sold after an accident and no longer returned to. The key was merely ornamental and his habit of touching the key was rooted in longing ... and perhaps a dash of inexplicable ennui. After saying these words, Camille placed the key in one of his pockets. What he remembered was the searing pain as if a chunk of flesh were being torn from his body, and a dark and exhausting past that went on and on. The gift was offered when sincerity remained. The Keeper faced a dilemma, and he no longer wanted to be reminded. A few days later, Camille received a Baker toast and visited the Endministrator's office. He was received by a smiling Endministrator who dropped a new key into his hands. "Such keys and locks are pretty rare, so making them took quite a while," the person said, "I just want you to know that Dijiang always has a door that you can open." It caught Camille by surprise. He tightly wrapped his fingers around the key and turned his face aside. He tried to form words, but they came out like noises made by a wheezing fowl whose neck was caught in an iron grip. In the end, he only managed to blurt out a barely audible phrase: "Thank you." Not everybody is familiar with Camille's body language, but everyone knows that the jingling of the new key against the old is joyous, like how he felt at that very moment.

DOCUMENT: A Torn Manuscript The first mirror witnessed by a babe is usually the eyes of its mother. A mother would gaze at you and softly whisper these words: "Welcome to this world." You opened your eyes to look right back at her, with a focus shared by a navigator attempting to cross an ocean. Once the wet shimmers faded, you would see yourself reflected in her eyes. Powerful, weak, hateful, lovely, pure, tainted... You recognized the reflection in the mirror, a reflection of yourself. But what if your first mirror was not your mother? What if you opened your eyes before you uttered your first cry? The ocean around you swayed like a swinging cradle, and someone pressed against your fingers. It felt annoying but also calm. You did not know who this person was, but you peered through the turbid fluids, noticed another pair of blurry eyes, and saw your reflection in them. At that very moment, something faster than a bolt of lightning struck through your soul. He was born with you. You were the closest friends, yet you always fought and argued. You could not help but peer into his eyes to look at your own reflections... He was the rule and the control by which you were measured against, and the very conduit by which you fed from the world. He, on the other hand, relied upon you, respected you, and envied you. The days passed and your reflection within his eyes grew ever more perfect. Then one day it came. The first crack appeared in the mirror. The cracks spread, and the mirror shattered. Your image was gone. The storm descended, the fates murmured, and the oceans drove back into the deep. You gained a scar that would never heal, lost half of your soul, and were forced to raise your weapon against him. It was the only way with which you could pierce the hatred that burned deeper than love and restore what was broken to completion. And that moment, you still had not realized — — that you were his first mirror. DOCUMENT: A Faded News Cutting Landbreakers Raid Towns - Seš'qa Planning to Create an Anti-Witchcraft Organization The floating city traitor and deserter Jakub Meissen and the Landbreaker raiders he led have recently become a major security threat to the Civilization Band. Jakub's forces have occupied and transformed an Originium farm into their base of operations, sending out raider groups to spread more Originium and raid. Just two nights prior, a town at the Band Fringes was attacked by raiders led by a Vampire serving as Jakub's lieutenant. The town, situated at an area not yet claimed by Talosian factions, was poorly defended. However, another Vampire, who hailed from Seš'qa, played a pivotal role in thwarting the raid. Armed with knowledge of Sarkazian witchcraft, the Vampire defender sabotaged the raiders' military hardware and ran his weapon through the chest of the raid leader, forcing the latter to call for retreat. Currently, the raider leader has gone into hiding and Seš'qa is maintaining constant vigilance to track him down. Seš'qa regarded Jakub's betrayal as its responsibility. The latest news revealed that the leadership of the floating city is planning to create an organization dedicated to fighting crimes involving Sarkazian witchcraft and apprehending the traitors.

Operator Reporting for Duty

Camille Arno, Agaš'mekanaz of Seš'qa. I seek a dangerous Sarkaz criminal who wields witchcraft as a weapon. For this, I require the strength of Endfield... And in return, I vow to offer you my own.

Dijiang Idle Chatter 1

The vertical space on Dijiang is vast. Occasionally, for efficiency, I traverse the ceiling... No, it is not to avoid greeting others.

25

Dijiang Idle Chatter 2

I can hear the currents flowing through the cables of Dijiang. Whenever Engineering adjust ship parameters, the electrical hums change and I must readjust... They do irk me, but I bear no resentment. They prove that people are striving to keep the ship steadily on course.

26

Dijiang Idle Chatter 3

I am fond of puzzles. There is a certain satisfaction in gathering scattered fragments and restoring them to a whole. Furthermore, it is a pastime that requires only one person.

27

Dijiang Idle Chatter 4

I do not expect Seš'qa to send operator Last Rite to Endfield... You enjoy a sincere partnership, one that proves the solidarity of the two organizations and the alignment of our visions. As in the old days ... nothing has changed.

28

Dijiang Idle Chatter 5

Two wings in the sky, yet two different homes. Seš'qa's tranquility sprung out of our kindred. But Dijiang ... perhaps the presence of a particular individual exerts the same assuring effect.

29

Dijiang Idle Chatter 6

Few understand their own hearts, yet everyone aboard Dijiang move toward a clear goal. For long I have sought the reason, and I found it in you, Endmin. You are quite the leader.

30

Offering Gifts

I have something for you from Seš'qa. Take it. The other gifts from our leadership have been delivered to your office.

31

Accepting Gifts

It is not a parting gift, I hope...? Very well, I shall take it.

41

Trust Dialog 1

Over the decades, I've glimpsed you a few times from afar. I remember my first impression of you was that of a "Savior". But now you feel more like a confidante. I do not concern with the preferences of others, but I do find more comfort in the person before me now. You are no longer weathered by the elements, and your body is freed from scars.

42

Trust Dialog 2

I constantly dream of my family in a garden, surrounded by riotous torch-bearing Landbreakers. No matter how I run, I would remain stuck in place and could never get close. During the worst of my days ... the dreams happened every night. But after arriving at Endfield, the nightmares have started to fade.

43

Trust Dialog 3

To keep Char alive, I gave him my blood ... a full half of my existence. Thus I am his brother as well as his sire. The greatest fear of a Vampire is the corruption and sullying of our blood. He used mine to injure others ... and so I must stop such foolishness. I have to do it.

44

Trust Dialog 4

Long ago, I used to wish memory could be bled away to free myself from the aching pain. But after meeting you ... I realized it was these untouchable, unforgettable, and unretractable elements that have shaped who I am today. So, Endmin, I shall help you recover what you've lost.

45

Trust Dialog 5

I sacrificed half my lifeblood, and so I am left with but a single wing... The missing other throbs with constant pain, as though my blood thirsts for what I lost. Yet, the new memories we've created together are filling that void. Maybe in time ... the pain of that scar will trouble me no more.

46

Chat 1

Our family garden once held a plant known as the Devil's Licorice. Mother told us that the Sarkaz carried this thread of memory from Terra. It is a sign for our hope to coexist with this planet — All life, people or plant, will find a way in distant lands. Of course, my younger self mainly used it as an ingredient for witchcraft sweets... The flavor is unusual, but not in a bad way.

47

Chat 2

There is a unique tavern on Seš'qa, constructed entirely out of mirrored glass. Countless artificial gems glowing with witchcraft hang from the ceilings. The whole building radiates light. During open tours, the Sankta would host parties there. They are a loud, rowdy bunch that keep people awake. Still, such liveliness is good for Seš'qa. It proves — our efforts are working, taking down many barriers between the races.

48

Chat 3

The person in the Witching Hour catalog...? Fine, it is I. They send me samples in exchange for promotional photos. Years ago, I wandered into a witchcraft shop and the counter clerk treated me like a rare specimen. I was held, physically, so as to sign a contract on the spot. I do feel awkward if acquaintances see the picture, but the samples are rare... Endmin, may I ask where you might be going with that booklet?

49

Chat 4

I would constantly lose my house keys as a child. It led to a fight with Char, and I accidentally broke his music box. After I apologized, he used its core component and made me a new key... He told me it was a charm that would always lead me back home. Now that my family is gone and our Seš'qa estate sold ... it no longer opens any doors nor holds any meaning.

50

Chat 5

The crimson "demon lances" are my Originium Arts. I can encapsulate objects with my blood to shape them into weapons. I usually use my own blood as the enemy's may be impure. The blood of my companions is ... something I do not wish to exploit, even with your agreement.

51

Topic: Seš'qa

A hundred years ago, no one would have imagined that today, the sight of the Sarkazian city floating in the skies would stir not irritation, but a longing to visit and witness its witchcraft tricks. Seš'qa is a drifting feather with countless people carefully steering the winds. It is their wish that the cruising city serves as a tether for our land-dwelling kin and gives them hope.

52

Topic: Warlord of the Wilds

Jakub the Warlord of the Wilds... Yes, I saw him in person. Very few would mention his name nowadays. Personal hatred aside, I do not agree with his plan to shatter the Civilization Band. Yet I cannot deny his skills and extraordinary leadership. If Jakub Meissen did not fall, his Landbreakers might succeed in carving a bloody piece out of Talos-II.

53

Topic: Sibling

I am nothing like Char. But there were brief mental lapses when I saw his face in the mirror... I tried to mimic his nonchalant, cynical smirk, yet I still fail to understand his reasoning — how could he ignore the blood feud and join the bandits who killed our parents? The riddle gnaws at me, and I thirst for the truth.

54

Topic: Keepers of Wisdom

Few bear the title of "Agaš'mekanaz" — Char was the one who presented me a chance of becoming a Keeper. Crimes involving Sarkazian witchcraft are more easily solved by a kin... I am the one most privy to Char's Arts; and I alone can commit decades without rest to track him down. Making an enemy out of a loved one brings pain, yet we Keepers remain loyal to our charge. I am no exception.

55

Topic: Parents

Led by the legendary Speaker, my parents arrived at Talos-II with many Sarkaz. They were the first members of Seš'qa and built the Lifebone... The Warlord of the Wilds killed them. I remember Mother being a gentle soul committed to fostering peace between the races... But Char claims he saw a different side of her that I do not know... No matter what the past holds, betrayal... is still betrayal.
